Testing & Verification

The splice is not finished until the fiber is verified.

Test data connects field workmanship to the condition of the fiber. Obsidian uses project-specific verification and diagnostic workflows to characterize links, identify events, isolate faults, and organize results for the teams responsible for handoff.

Testing methods are selected according to the project scope; not every project requires every method, and final acceptance authority remains with the contractually responsible party unless otherwise specified.

OTDR

Event-based analysis used to identify distance, loss, reflectance, and physical events along a fiber path.

IOLM

Intelligent link characterization used when required by project specifications and supported by the applicable EXFO test platform.

Optical Power / Loss Verification

Power-level or end-to-end loss verification performed where the method and reference requirements are defined by the project scope.

Troubleshooting

Test data used to support fault isolation, field diagnosis, event location, and decisions about repair or further investigation.
